The Rules

These are important if you want to get paid.

Last Man Standing is back.

Last year we paid out  $2,500. $1,875 to Last Man Standing and $625 was paid to the winner of the consolation pool.

This year Last Man Standing will Pay 75% of the total pot. The consolation bracket, for longest consecutive losing streak, will pay 25% of the total pot.

The pool will work as follows:
The entry fee is $50 per person.

In order to win the "Last Man Standing" pool you need to outlast everyone else by successfully picking a single NFL team to win their respective game that week.

Each week that you are correct, you move on to the next week; until there is only one person remaining or the end of the regular season.
Prior to the first games kickoff, on Sunday morning, you to need select just one NFL team that you believe will win their game that week.
If your team wins then you will move on to the next week. If they lose then you will be eliminated.
As you advance from week to week, you will no longer be able to select any of the previous teams that you have already selected.

> Example: You select the Broncos to win in week one and they
> do. You advance on to week two. For week two you will need to
> select a winning team from the remaining 31 NFL teams,
> and you can never again pick the Broncos. At most you will only be
> selecting 17 of the 32 possible teams during the season.

If your pick turns out to be incorrect and your team loses, you are given one mistake or"Mulligan" and you will continue on in the "Last Man Standing" pool; however you will still not be able to select any team you've previously selected win or lose.

> Example: You select the Bears to win in week two and
> they lose. If it is your first and only incorrect pick so far, you
> advance to the next week but you are still not allowed to select the Bears again.

> Once you have accumulated two incorrect picks you
> are eliminated from the "Last Man Standing" pool,
> but you can still win a consolation pool by putting together
> the longest consecutive Loser streak.

> To win the "Consolation Pot" or "Loser Pot" you have to put
> together the longest consecutive Loser
> streak at any point during the 17 week season, without
> selecting any one team more than once.
> Example: You are eliminated from "Last
> Man Standing" for your second incorrect pick in
> week 5. In week six you will no longer try to pick a winner.
> Since you are so good at picking losers, you will need to pick a team to lose their
> respective game in week six, without selecting any team you
> have previously selected.
> In theory, you are never elimnated from the "Consolation
> Pot" and can continue to pick Losers
> up until the end of the season in week 17. Whomever
> can pick the most Losers in a row will win the side pot.

> It is important to note that there are no tie-breakers. The pools
> will be split. Even if one person had one Mulligan and another didn't.

> Example #1: It's week 12 and Frank and Sally are the
> only two remaining people in the "Last Man
> Standing" pool. Frank picked
> incorrectly in week 3, Sally has picked correctly 11
> straight weeks. Frank selects a team in week 12 correctly
> and Sally picks incorrectly. Both Frank and
> Sally advance to week 13. In week 13 Sally again
> selects incorrectly and Frank advances to week 14; he is
> now the winner even though Frank used his mulligan in
> week 3 and Sally didn't use hers until week
> 12.
> Example #2: It's week 17 and Frank and Sally are the
> only two remaining people in the pool. Frank had
> one incorrect pick in week 3, Sally never did. They
> both pick correct and the season ends. They were the last
> two remaining so they tie and split the pot, even though
> Sally correctly picked 17 consecutive weeks and
> Frank had a mulligan in week 3.

It is important to note that a tie is not a win and a tie is not a loss it is a tie. If your team ends in a tie your pick is incorrect. We are selecting teams to win or to lose, not to tie.

Lastly, you need to get your pick to me each week prior to the start of the am games Sunday morning aka 11:00am (even if the first game of the week is Thursday, or Saturday). Anyone who does not get their pick to me in time will be considered and incorrect pick and possibly eliminated. Any current streak, winning or losing, will be broken by a week without a team selected.
Last Man Standing will Pay 75% of the total pot and the side pot for longest consecutive losing streak will pay 25% of the total pot.

If you have any questions, just ask.

This pool is phenomenal and nowhere near as time consuming as fantasy football.

Feel free to invite anyone else to this, more people = more $$!

I will pay out the winners in the same time frame it takes you to pay me.
